OBLATES OF SAINT JOSEPH ABBEY
Become a Saint Joseph Abbey Oblate
The Abbey's Oblate program allows the community to experience the richness of the Benedictine tradition through prayer, liturgical celebration, instruction and fellowship.
Oblates of Saint Joseph Abbey, nearly 500 strong, are specifically invited to the Abbey twice each year for Oblate Days of Recollection. They are held in July , on the Saturday after the Solemnity of Saint Benedict (July 11) , and in December, on the second Saturday before Christmas.
Oblates begin their initiation into the Oblate program by becoming Oblate Novices, usually on one of the two annual days of recollection. After a year as Oblate Novices, they are eligible to make their formal Oblation -again, usually on one of the annual days of recollection.
